I know of three places right now that are open as shelters: First Baptist Church in Moore, Journey Church in Norman, and the Walker Tower dorms at the Univ. of OK campus. I’m sure there are more, those are the ones I know. I also know people are donating hotel points...

Note to Self
I have GOT to stop using food as a coping mechanism. Not only is it unhealthy, my stomach hurts and it’s keeping me awake which means I’ve got more time to dwell on the butt hurt that inspired the overeating in the first place.

The co-worker and I think we should administer basic reading comprehension tests to anyone before we allow them to rent the venue for an event. I’m sure the outcry and backlash were we actually to do this would not be worth it, but it sure would solve a lot of problems we have with the renters.

Why Are Women Like This →
Apparently, I’m writing a lot today. I wouldn’t say I’m doing it well. But I’m linking to it anyway.
I would really like to have the luxury of quitting my job, sleeping for a week, then spending as much time as I can getting my house organized and then doing lots of fun bonus activities with the girls’ group that I lead, but (in my own opinion) don’t do nearly enough for each week.
It won’t happen, but I thought I would put it out there anyway.
(It probably doesn’t help that my busiest work...
2013 has not been a banner year for us as a nation or for me personally. Not since I was a teenager have I found myself feeling terribly hurt or disappointed or disillusioned and wishing I could throw my arms up in frustration and ask God “What is it all for, anyway?”
I was feeling that way again this morning as I scanned the local radio stations looking for coverage of the OKC...
I Wish I Was in Chicago
Over the past couple of years, I’ve kind of felt that way, but the introvert in me was secretly relieved. This is the first time I am genuinely sad to be missing CHSH. Stupid money shortages and important stuff going on at work this week and next, they ruin all my fun.

Must Not Laugh at the 3 Year-Old
My three year-old has a Simba stuffed animal with a ball-shaped rattle inside of it to make it sound like it is purring. She just told me the following:
Three year old: Mom, I’m trying to get my balls out of Simba. Because I LOVE balls.
