Wishful Thinking
There is apparently a very large storm headed this way. I would call it the “Storm of the Century,” but we had that the year before last. I guess we could call it the “Storm of the Decade” since the last big one was in 2009, but this decade is young yet and could still surprise us. Especially since next year is 2012…
Anyway, I have visions of nesting here at home...

My husband and I were looking for land to buy and build on. Our house was paid off, the real estate bubble hadn’t burst yet, and we knew it was now or never. So, my boss just informed my co-worker and I that she is resigning effective three weeks from today. There are three of us on this staff and she was our Executive Director. No matter what, this will be a big change and I don’t do those well. I’m feeling a little terrified right now.

I mean, who could have such dislike for their own kid? Especially when that kid is me? Crazy.

I just realized that it’s been about 20 years since I’ve had to stand on the front porch and promise that “I’m taking these shoes off as soon as we start dancing” any time I wore something with a heel higher than a ballet flat.
